With regards to the barn complex located at 7295 Jewett-Holmwood Road being designated as a historic landmark, there may be a future lawsuit forthcoming from the landowner / developer. In that both Town Attorney Leonard Berkowitz and Deputy Town Attorney J. Michael Wolf have business relationships with both, the case was referred to Thomas Knab. Chairman Dan Ransom reviewed with Mr. Knab the background details of the barn complex situation. He also suggested that Mr. Knab get in touch with both Town Historian Suzanne Kulp as well as Bonnie Foit-Albert based on the historic preservation work Ms. Foit-Albert and her firm have done in the past. Mr. Knab suggested that a resolution be drawn listing all items and information that provide the backing for the historic preservation designation.
With a goal of $25,000, Chairman Ransom noted he had contributions of $2,100 to date and was waiting for responses from other local businesses of which he and Suzanne Kulp had called upon.
Chairman Ransom and Mr. Kaczor will be attending the Economic Development meeting on April 15th in hopes to solidify a donation from them towards the Cultural Survey.
Norm Stoj attended the 2nd Annual House Restoration Fair held on Saturday March 29th and found the lecture interesting with regards to finding more about the history of one’s house.
Located in Rochester, NY the annual Regional Preservation Conference would be held on Saturday April 26th at a cost of $45 for anyone interested in attending.
The next meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday May 5th.
