Minutes of the Special Meeting on February 11, 2008 of the Historical Preservation Board of the TOWN OF ORCHARD PARK, Municipal Center, Supervisor’s Conference Room, 4295 South Buffalo Street, Orchard Park, New York at 7:00 PM, present were the following:

OTHERS PRESENT:                             David Kaczor, Town Board Liaison

 

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m. by Chairman Ransom.

 

A motion was made to approve the minutes of the January 21st meeting by Norman Stoj and seconded by Suzanne Kulp. 

 

THE VOTE ON THE MOTION BEING:

THE MOTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED,

 

 

  1. Woodford Brothers Inc visited the barn complex located at 7295 Jewett-Holmwood Road.  They have expressed interest in assisting with keeping the barn standing as a historical landmark.  Mr. Woodford mentioned he would be interested in a walk through the complex. 

 

  1. Chairman Ransom met with Jack Bertsch – owner of Polymer Conversions and an active member of the Economic Development Board - indicated he would be interested in donating monies ($5,000) towards the survey that studies the listing of the homes in the Town of Orchard Park and identify those properties that meet the historic criteria and significance that may have potential to be designated as historical landmarks. 

 

  1. Chairman Ransom spoke about the National Trust – a group for Historical Preservation.  A Preservation Leadership Training program will be held June 21st – June 28th 2008 in Portland, ME at a cost of $450 for anyone that is interested in attending.  He encouraged the board to visit their website at www.nationaltrust.org.

 

The next meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday March 3rd

 

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 pm.
