  1. Review of Fundraising Efforts:

With a goal of $25,000, by the week ending February 29th, calling was made by Chairman Ransom and Suzanne Kulp to 12 perspective donors for the Cultural Survey of the town, including many local businesses.  Received so far were checks for $500 from Realty USA and $1,000 from West Herr Group.  Chairman Ransom noted they were running into the same type of effort being done by the High School in support of their new field turf fundraising and that donations were slow in forthcoming.  A bank account has been established for deposits of the fundraising effort.

Chairman Ransom spoke with Jack Bertsch (Polymer Conversions) as a perspective donor who in turn also invited him and Suzanne Kulp to meet with the Orchard Park Economic Development Group, possibly sometime in April, hoping to solidify a donation from them as well.

Two other areas of concentration for the fundraising effort are with the Orchard Park Town Board as well as from Senator Dale Volker.

For all contributors to date, Chairman Ransom has written personal thank you notes on behalf of the Historical Preservation Board.  A report was included on the status of the fundraising efforts which each thank you note.  He also invited any assistance from the members of the board with the solicitation of donations.  Bonnie Albert-Foit inquired about assistance from Benderson Development.  Ms. Kulp will be following up with them while in Florida.

  1. National Trust for Historical Preservation:

This is a bi-monthly magazine.  Chairman Ransom spoke with the Subscriptions Department and was able to obtain a subscription for all members of the Historical Preservation Board for a reduced rate of $10 per year per member.  Councilman Kaczor will have them billed through the Town if the approval is given by the Town Board.

  1. Report on Landmark Designation:

A report was distributed

  1. Julian Adams Material Distributed:

The seventh edition of “The Local Landmarker”, the newsletter for the Certified Local Government Community in New York State, was sent to Chairman Ransom and distributed at the meeting.  The cover letter notes that the newsletter is also available in PDF form on the New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation website:  www.nysparks.state.ny.us/shpo/certified/landmarker.htm .  Note to the board, Julian Adams will be our guest at our May 5th meeting.

  1. 2nd Annual House Restoration Fair

Norm Stoj noted he would be attending the 2nd Annual House Restoration Fair to be held on Saturday March 29th and distributed copies of the flyer for anyone interested in attending.

The next meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday April 7th

A motion was made by Norm Stoj and seconded by Bonnie Foit-Albert to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 pm.
