Monthly Town Board Meeting Schedule - First and Third Wednesday at 7 PM
Worksessions are held each Wednesday in the Supervisor Conference Room, and are open to the public. The notice boards in the the Town Hall lobby should be checked for cancellations and rescheduled meetings.
All meetings are held in the Municipal Center and are open to the public.
Additional special or public hearings may be scheduled during the year and
are publicized in advance in the South Town Citizen and on the Town's web site.

TOWN BOARD MEETING JULY 16, 2008
I Supervisor's Call To Order:

Fire Safety Notification: “Fire exits are located at
the rear of the board room and at the doorway to the left. If notified, please move
in a calm and orderly fashion to the nearest exits”.
If anyone appearing before the Town Board has a
family, financial or business relationship with any member of the Board, it is
incumbent upon that person to make it known under State Law and the Town Code of Ethics.
II OLD BUSINESS:
1. Town Board to appoint Mary Popielinski, to the fulltime Clerk Typist Position, in the Assessors office, at the White Collar Union Job level 0003, Step A, effective 7/21/2008, as recommended by the Town Assessor. (Tabled 7/2/08)
III NEW BUSINESS:
1. Building Inspector requesting the Town Board to authorize the necessary budget transfers within his budget lines into the vehicle purchase line totaling $11,574.00, and to authorize the purchase of one (1) New 2008 Ford Focus Sedan, under New York State Bid Contract, from Warncock Automotive Inc., 175 Route 10, East Hanover, NJ 07936, for a total not to exceed $11,424.21.
2. Authorize the Town Clerk to release to Thomas J. Johnson Construction, Inc., a total of $6,000 and $5, 000 held in escrow for R.O.W. final grading and seeding, and restoration of the pond detention area respectfully in he Windy Hill Farms 11, Phase 2 Subdivision constructed under PIP #2007-04.
3. Authorize the Town Clerk to release to Dominic Piestrak Real Estate Inc., 110 Coriander Court, East Amherst, NY 14051, the $5,000 held in escrow for final grading and seeding in the Birdsong Subdivision, Part 3A, Phase 4B, constructed under PIP # 2007-04.
4. Authorize the advertisement of Principal Engineer Assistant for the Engineering Department.
5. Authorize the Building Inspector to cut the grass (one time only) at the property located at 6238 Lake Avenue, in the Town of Orchard Park, due to the property being vacant for some time and it going into foreclosure. All cost will be applied to the tax rolls of the property.
6. Schedule a Public Hearing for Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 7:00 P.M., for Sampla Belting North America LLC (Pursuant to General Municipal Law) to solicit comments regarding the re-location from 40 Center Drive to the City of Lackawanna Empire Zone.
7. Town of Orchard Park Recreation Department requesting to hire the 2008 Summer “Seasonal” Staff Appointment, as recommended by the Recreation Director, Ed Leak.
8. Approve the request from Denise Sorrentino, Forest Creek Subdivision, to hold a Block Party on August 9, 2008, and to have the street blocked off at 115 Norwood Lane & 155 Stoughton.
9. Authorize the request from Verizon to host a FIOS event in the Stonehenge Development (on Winterhall Road, near the intersection of Stonehenge) Tuesday, July 22, 2008, from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 PM. This limited opportunity is being hosted in select neighborhoods in Western New York where Verizon has recently launched FIOS.
10. Resolution in Support of Legislation relating to Assessment of Condominiums.
11. Resolution to Authorize Changes to the Town’s Capital Plan.

12. Fellowship Wesleyan Church, 1645 Southwestern Blvd, Zoned R-2. Applicant requests a Building Permit and Site Plan approval to erect a picnic shelter for church events.
13. Quaker Crossing East Out-parcel, located near the entranceway along Amelia Drive, Zoned B-1. Applicant is proposing a 5,040 square foot restaurant.

14. William Smith, 7503 East Quaker Road, in the Town of Orchard Park. Requesting to have two (2) “Tractor Crossing” signs to be placed on East Quaker Road, to prevent any accidents involving automobiles and equipment from his farm.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation: Comments regarding “The Pines at Murphy Road Senior Living Community”, in the Town of Orchard Park.
